What is Dorvelle?
Dorvelle is a sterling silver jewelry line made on 47th Street, New York, by the oldest standing shop in the Diamond District, since 1959, and sold online only. The house’s own designs, cast in sterling silver (925) and set with lab-grown diamonds: rings, bands, earrings, pendants, necklaces and bracelets, each in a white or yellow finish.
What is under the finish?
Sterling silver, 92.5 percent pure silver, stamped 925. White pieces are finished in rhodium, the same metal used on white gold. Yellow pieces are finished in gold vermeil, real gold over the silver.
How do I keep the finish bright?
Warm water, a drop of dish soap, a soft cloth. And whenever you want it back to the day it arrived, send it in: we re-plate by mail, the first time free, $45 after that.
How do I arrange re-plating?
Request a prepaid label, send the piece, it comes back re-plated within 5 business days of arrival. See the care guide for everyday cleaning and storage.
Are the diamonds lab-grown?
Yes. Every diamond in Dorvelle is a lab-grown diamond, graded for color and clarity. Lab report with center stones over one carat. The product page lists the specifications for each design. Our lab-grown diamond guide explains how they are grown and graded.
What does ct tw mean?
It means carat total weight, the combined weight of all the diamonds in the piece or pair. A single-stone piece is listed in ct. The carat figure is weight, not a measurement of diameter.
What is the 14k comparison?
Each Dorvelle design has a 14k gold twin on 47th Street. Product pages show that design’s 14k list price alongside the Dorvelle price. The difference is the metal beneath the finish. Read the story.
Why is Dorvelle online only?
No shop floor, no counter and no one on commission, so the silver version can carry a smaller margin on the same design and the same stone. Every piece is made and shipped from 47th Street, NYC. Read why.
Can I talk to someone?
Yes. Text 646-366-8018, or ask a specialist. The people who answer are the house on 47th Street’s own.
How do I find my ring size?
Start with the ring size guide. Not sure of your size? Ask a specialist before you order, or use the size guide. An eternity band’s fit needs particular care, so ask a specialist before ordering one.
How does delivery work?
Free insured shipping in the US. 30-day returns in original condition. See shipping and returns.
Can I return a piece?
Yes. Dorvelle accepts returns within 30 days of delivery, in original condition, for a full refund. Re-plating is a separate service by mail and is not a return. See shipping and returns.
Which hoop size is right for me?
It depends on your face, your piercing and how you wear them. Hoops, explained covers every size from 8mm huggies to 80mm, twenty-five styles, the metals and how to judge a clasp. Or ask a specialist which of our two hoops suits you.
Can I trade my piece toward its gold twin?
There is no trade-up credit. The Dorvelle piece and its 14k gold twin are separate purchases. The first re-plating is included with Dorvelle.
